Outstanding Economics Lesson Plan
This award recognizes teachers who create an outstanding original single lesson plan that increases economic understanding. The lesson is short in duration, typically taking three days or less to complete.

Outstanding Economics Unit/Project Plan
This award recognizes teachers who create an outstanding original unit or project that increases economic understanding. The unit or project may take place over an entire semester or grading period and typically consists of several lessons and a culminating activity.

The Outstanding Economic Educator
This award recognizes teachers who have a sustained history of commitment and contribution to economic education. An Outstanding Economics Educator is selected from each of the Centers and receives $100. One of those teachers is selected as Virginia's Outstanding Economic Educator and awarded $1,000.

• Teachers of students in grades K-12 who have developed and used innovative lesson plans for teaching economics in their classrooms
• Entries must contain lesson plans used in the author’s classroom within the last three years.
• Co-Authored entries are acceptable.
