10-Week Spring Stock Market Game™

For each competition, teams are placed in regions based on the geographic location of VCEE’s affiliated university-based Centers for Economic Education. Elementary, middle, and high school teams compete in the same region. 
          Spring SMG Competiiton ends April 13, 2012 (Note: students may continue to invest to May 18, 2012)
Two rankings are posted weekly (Region and Coordinator) based on the value of the portfolio. The Coordinator ranking is the state ranking of the top 100 teams.
Awards:
Region: awards are determined and awarded by the VCEE-affiliated Centers.
Coordinator (state): top three teams in the state ranking for each semester are recognized at the SMG Awards luncheon in May.
Year-Long Stock Market  Game™
Teams are placed in regions based on the geographic location of some of VCEE's affiliated centers. Two rankings are posted weekly (Region and Coordinator).   The year-long SMG competition ends April 13, 2012  (Note: students may continue to invest to May 18, 2012)
Awards:
Region:  First Place team is recognized by the VCEE-affilated Centers.
Coordinator (state):  First Place team is recognized at the SMG Awards luncheon in May.
InvestWrite
State – First Place essay winners in Virginia for each division (Elementary, Middle, and High School) receive $100 for the student and $50 for the teacher. Both are invited to the SMG Awards luncheon in May.
National – the top 10 essays in each division are recognized nationally.
