| 2010 Virginia Economics Challenge |

A totally online competition FREE for middle and high school students!

| Open to students in any course that includes some economics. Students not currently enrolled in a qualifying course may participate, as long as they are coached by a school-sanctioned teacher and registered by the teacher. |

| How Does this Online Virginia Economics Challenge Work? |
 |
| Free to all middle and high school students. Teachers and students throughout Virginia may participate without leaving their school. Teams of up to four students may compete. Each team member will have 35 minutes to complete a 30-question online exam. High school topics cover macro, micro and international economics. Middle school questions cover economic concepts in Civics and Economics. Click here to register after January 1, 2010. |

| The winning high school team in each division in eight regions in the state will be acknowledged and awarded a trophy. Team members in each of the top two teams in the state will be acknowledged and awarded trophies. Regions are based on the regional study groups set by the Virginia Department of Education. |

| In the middle school division, the top two teams will be recognized. Team members on the first and second place teams will receive a trophy. |

The top team in each division will be invited to attend an awards luncheon at The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond on May 7, 2010.

| Beginning January 1, 2010 at www.econchallenge.org. Once registered, teachers can create their student teams of 3-4 students per team. |
