Description Held in Spotsylvania, this is the first of a two part course that will provide an invaluable foundation for teachers new to teaching economics and/or personal finance. How well you understand the world around you depends on how well you understand basic economics. When understood and taught correctly, basic economic concepts empower people with “life skills” that enable them to make more meaningful and productive day to day decisions. This program will emphasize the “economic way of thinking” while covering topics such as opportunity cost, marginal analysis, production possibilities frontier, circular flow, types of economies, competitive markets, productivity, cost of production, supply and demand, product markets, labor markets, human capital,and entrepreneurship.

Additional Information Registration is complete after a check payable to VCEE for a $75 deposit is received by the GMU Center for Economic Education. The deposit will be returned uncashed after the participant completes the institute.

Each participant will receive classroom curricula valued at over $100.

Fundamentals in Economics - Part B will be scheduled for the Fall with input from participants in Part A.
